Challenge a local soccer star in a game of FIFA, you could win R5 000 & legend status

Themba Zwane, Teko Modise, Lebohang Maboe, Thembinkosi Lorch, Lehlohonolo Majoro, Mpho Makola, Kermit Erasmus and Reneilwe Letsholonyane take on fans in a game of FIFA in the latest partnership between The Original London Dry, Gordon’s Gin, and Everything Creative Agency.

FIFA lovers will be treated to an adrenaline-fuelled eFootball tournament during the lockdown period, when many fans are craving their sporting fix.

The digital tournament is like no other,  and will see FIFA fanatics challenge local football stars to battle it out, with the winning fan walking away with a R5000.00 cash prize and the ultimate bragging rights.

The eFootball tournament serves as the perfect opportunity for fans to challenge their favourite local soccer players in real-time over a game of FIFA 19.

This never before seen fixture will take place in the comfort of South Africans’ own homes, enjoying a sense of community while staying safe and doing their part to flatten the COVID-19 curve in the country.

FIFA lovers keen at their chance for the title signed up on, and are now garnering the support of friends and family to vote via an online poll to get through to the knock-out contest of the group stages.

The tournament will be held over the course of four days:

Thursday 30th April                    –           Sign Ups and Group Stages
Friday 31st April                         –           Quarter Finals
Saturday 1st May                       –           Semi Finals
Sunday 2nd May                         –           Finals!

To be eligible to register, participants must:

  • be 18 years of age or older
  • have access to a Sony PlayStation 4 console and the FIFA ’19 game
  • MUST have a reliable internet connection

The tournament will comprise of a total of 16 games. All games will be streamed live on YouTube and during half-time, fans will be able to interact with the local football players on Instagram Live.
