Fashion designer David Tlale is famous for his designs that focus on the modern representation of African tradition.
This year, the designer took his creativity to a new level, drawing inspiration from his Heritage Month collaboration with Tastic Rice, as well as the rich and vibrant cultures found in South Africa.
The showstopper was his heritage inspired, one of a kind wedding dress that saw its runway debut during his show and forms part of his continued collaboration with Tastic.
“In designing the dress, I took inspiration from the way in which I saw the country’s women and men express themselves during Heritage Month; as well as the memories of my beloved mother growing up.” says Tlale.
“Being African means something unique to all of us, and the AFI platform consistently gives the world a glimpse of what that expression can look like, in all it’s different forms.
Every bride deserves a couture moment and I’m excited to make one special bride’s dreams come to life,” Tlale continues.
“The Tastic brand is all about celebrating life’s special occasions, and there are few moments bigger than one’s wedding” says Thembi Sehloho, Marketing Director for Rice and Pasta at Tiger Brands.
“We’re excited for the lucky winner to celebrate their special day with Tastic and their one-of-a-kind creation” adds Sehloho.
The competition will be run across national and regional radio as well as social media from October, and the winner will be announced in December 2019.
